To provide an independent, inclusive, competitive and low cost summer baseball program for young adults between the ages of 16-19 with the emphasis on sportsmanship, fair play and respect for the game and it's participants.
In 1980, a Senior Babe Ruth League for 16-18 year olds was formed between the towns of Torrington and Washington which fielded several teams. Because the Babe Ruth organization required all-star competition and dictated league structure, league officials, at the end of the 1982 season, began to look for an affiliation that would offer more local control. They discovered the Connie Mack Div of the American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC) for players 19 years and under which operated under the league and team concept, as opposed to an all-star concept. The Northwest CT Connie Mack Baseball League was formed. The affilation remained that way for a few years before moving to an indepentdent status, now known as the "Mack" Travel Baseball League
For over 33 years, the Northwest CT Connie Mack Baseball League has prospered and grown. From it’s humble beginnings with (4) teams in 1983, the league now operates with between 8-12 teams during any given season, located from Eastern New York State to the Northwest Corner and Central Connecticut. It is recognized, at regional levels, as one of the best operated summer leagues and it has developed a reputation for it’s highly competitive level of baseball play in this 19 and under age group.
